About The Position

This position reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Department within Peterbilt Motors Company. This position is directly responsible for the activities related to the manufacturing preparations for new product programs. This role will be with Peterbilt Division and will be responsible for managing program development in a matrixed organization to meet program objectives, including schedule, budget, scope, communication, and issue management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with increasing responsibility in project development with demonstrated leadership success
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical aptitude and ability to succinctly communicate complicated topics
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, take initiative, be a strong team player and a problem-solver.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

  • Engineering Degree or Master's Degree
  • 8 or more years of program management experience
  • 1 to 3 years of automotive/commercial truck experience
  • PMP or PgMP certification preferred. If a candidate does not currently have a certification, they must be willing to earn one within 12 months of satisfying the experience requirements for the certification.
  • Demonstrated presentation ability, including to Senior Management.
  • Previous experience managing projects to a stage gate process required, PACCAR Tollgate process.
  • Experience managing projects within matrixed organizations spanning multiple locations and countries.
  • Experience working with or in production environments desired.
  • Demonstrates high leadership potential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Teams, and Power BI.
  • Six Sigma training.
  • Commercial truck product knowledge strongly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead activities with identifying PACCAR factory requirements for PCP Programs. This includes but is not limited to budget requirements, brick and mortar changes, validation equipment, training, logistics packaging, product flow, and infrastructure development.
  • Coordinate program activities across multiple PACCAR divisions and departments.
  • Deliver assigned programs on time, on budget, while meeting program objectives.
  • Maintain assigned programs in the appropriate tollgate phase.
  • Coordinate scope requests development and obtain approval.
  • Develop and manage assigned program budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare and deliver manufacturing program review presentations to Senior Management.
  • Effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization, including to Senior Management.
  • Manage successful production implementation.
  • Communicate pertinent information with PACCAR impacted factories.
  • Coordinate plant input and feedback.
  • Track and report critical metrics (readiness, defects, documentation, communication).
  • Lead the development of standard work, methodologies, and tools to advance Technical Project Management capabilities.
  • Drive the execution of innovative technology projects that advanced manufacturing capabilities and support future product strategies.
  • Coordinate build support during pilot build activities at suppliers and truck factories.
  • Contribute to department-wide continuous improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
