About The Position

Shawsheen Valley Technical High School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chapter 74 Advanced Manufacturing Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will hold a valid DESE Chapter 74 license in Advanced Manufacturing and possess strong technical expertise, effective classroom management skills, and a commitment to helping students develop the knowledge and hands-on abilities required for success in the manufacturing and machining industries. The instructor will deliver standards-based instruction, maintain a safe and organized shop environment, and collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and program growth. A valid SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement is preferred (or must be obtained within one year). Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, a passion for working with diverse learners, and the ability to integrate industry-aligned technology -including CNC machines, CAD/CAM software, precision measurement tools, and advanced manufacturing systems -into daily lessons. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-quality CTE program that prepares students for both immediate employment and advanced training in the manufacturing field.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering Chapter 74 aligned curriculum in both theory and shop settings.
  • Instructing students in manual machining, CNC programming and operation, blueprint reading, CAD/CAM, precision measurement, materials processing, safety practices, and the use of modern manufacturing technology and equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and OSHA-compliant manufacturing lab and shop environment.
  • Assessing student performance, maintaining accurate records, and providing timely feedback.
  • Supervising students during hands-on work, ensuring proper use of tools, machinery, and materials, and ensuring adherence to shop safety protocols.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to support student learning and continuous program improvement.
  • Participating in advisory board meetings, industry outreach, and relevant professional development.
  • Supporting students in developing employability skills, industry certifications, and connections to cooperative education opportunities.
