Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

GE VernovaGreenville, SC
$91,700 - $152,700Onsite

About The Position

Be at the forefront of the energy transition. As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) for Blades, you won’t just manage factory processes—you will engineer the future of sustainable energy. You are a hands-on technical leader responsible for translating breakthrough manufacturing concepts into robust, industrialized realities. You will partner across the global GE Vernova organization to drive technologies that optimize SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and shape the next generation of blade production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record in process engineering and project execution.
  • Solid foundation in lean manufacturing, composite process and equipment development.
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 20%) to support trials, factory start-ups, and supplier visits.

Nice To Haves

  • Solid understanding of composite manufacturing (infusion, layup, curing) and the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex process challenges.
  • Proven ability to manage a defined project scope independently—identifying risks, managing schedules, and driving milestones to completion.
  • A commitment to "Design for Manufacturing" (DfM) principles, with a focus on creating processes that are not only efficient but reliable and easy to maintain.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical strategy and the practical realities of the shop floor.
  • Strong wind turbine blade or composite manufacturing knowledge
  • Experience developing, leading, and executing technology development projects
  • Lean mindset – able to drive process improvement, standard work, etc.
  • Working knowledge of industrial automation, robotics, or PLC/HMI controls.

Responsibilities

  • Design, specify, and implement advanced tooling and equipment to scale new manufacturing technologies from pilot to shop-floor reality.
  • Own the development and refinement of manufacturing workflows. Use Lean methodologies (Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis) to diagnose process inefficiencies and implement sustainable, data-backed improvements.
  • Leverage data-driven insights and Industry 4.0 solutions to monitor and optimize process performance.
  • Support the technical implementation of automation, robotics, and complex process solutions.
  • Deploy global process standards, control plans, and training modules to ensure consistency across the global supply chain.
  • Work on highly matrixed programs between R&D, Engineering, and Operations to execute complex technical roadmaps and change management initiatives.

Benefits

  • medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage
