About The Position

Allegion is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team in improving manufacturing processes, equipment, and capital projects across our North American facilities. In this role, you'll work independently on assigned projects — supporting process improvements, equipment and automation upgrades, and new product introductions — while building deeper expertise across the full range of AME's manufacturing disciplines. We're looking for a well-rounded manufacturing engineer looking to learn and make a difference. Supporting electro-mechanical and fabrication/machining process improvements (e.g., sheet metal, welding, machining, etc.), partnering with subject matter experts as needed, is a growth focus area for this role. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position. At Allegion, we are driven by a bold vision: redefining safety while empowering our employees to thrive. When you join our team, you become part of a culture that values innovation, purpose, and excellence. This role offers the benefits of our dynamic hybrid work model—combining in-person collaboration for meaningful moments with the flexibility of remote work. Since hybrid arrangements can vary based on the needs of the individual, team and business, your talent acquisition partner will provide specific hybrid details about this role. We are committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance and building meaningful connections, ensuring you have the tools, resources, and support needed to excel in any environment. Together, we'll unlock your potential and create a lasting impact. Hybrid Role Details: This role is based at our Carmel, IN facility. Time will be split between office, onsite manufacturing floor, and remote work as business and project needs require. While this is the current structure and we currently have no plans to change, we reserve the right to make changes to the hybrid schedule as needed at the Company's discretion.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and matrixed teams
  • Problem Solving, Data Analytics and Analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field)
  • 5-10 years minimum relevant manufacturing/process engineering experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in development of business cases and ROI support for manufacturing solutions with low to mid level capital investment

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing process improvement initiatives across assigned production lines and facilities, applying structured problem-solving methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to improve safety, quality, and throughput
  • Support PCBA manufacturing at contract manufacturers and PCBA assembly at internal sites, collaborating with PCBA product design teams to incorporate design-for-manufacturability principles and guidelines
  • Support, develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes with appropriate automation, controls, and digitization improvements (e.g., PLC-controlled equipment, MES/data collection tools), in partnership with automation and controls specialists
  • Lead or support capital projects — from scoping through installation, qualification, and ramp-up — for equipment, tooling, and process upgrades, escalating risks or resource needs as appropriate
  • Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) efforts by supporting design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews and providing manufacturability feedback to product design teams
  • Research and benchmark manufacturing technologies and processes, recommending improvements appropriate to assigned facilities
  • Support M&A execution activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Procurement, Product Engineering) to resolve manufacturing issues and support facility-level initiatives
  • Develop as an SME and act as a resource for less-experienced engineers and technicians on assigned projects
  • Document processes, standard work, and project outcomes to support knowledge sharing across the AME team
