About The Position

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II will be responsible for providing support for the manufacture, assembly, test and fabrication of engineered-to-order skidded packages for high-speed pumps and compressors. This position will also participate in continuous improvement projects that increase efficiency, productivity, quality and delivery through the elimination of waste and variation in the production processes. The successful candidate will establish and foster strong, effective working relationships with shop-floor technicians and supervisors, peers within the Manufacturing Engineering team, and team members from Product Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain. This is a dayshift, salaried position that works under limited supervision, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This position is located in Arvada, CO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or other technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of exposure to Non-destructive Examination (NDE) processes; including Mag Particle Inspection (MPI), Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), X-ray / Radiography, Positive Material Inspection (PMI), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), etc.
  • 3+ years of experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • 3+ years ERP experience – JDE preferred
  • 3+ years of experience applying Lean and/or Six Sigma problem solving and process improvement methodologies preferred

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Indoor office & factory environment. Sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting are common.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API, ASNT industry standards strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Convert Engineering and Customer requirements into shop-floor routing instructions and inspection & test documentation requirements.
  • Provide quick response for production issue investigation and resolution.
  • Key participant in executing all aspects of production traceability and configuration control including changes/corrections to engineering drawings, bills of materials, shop-floor routings, technical work instructions and inspection & test plans.
  • Key participant in the NCM (Non-Conforming Material) disposition process.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to establish and foster improved culture around safety, business process improvement and routing structure.
  • Participate in the application of Lean and Six Sigma concepts and tools to identify and eliminate waste, variation and bottlenecks in the manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) related to significant internal issues, customer complaints or third-party audits.
  • Partner with Operations and Finance leadership to establish or improve accuracy of labor estimating tools and labor standards.
  • Provide support for the identification, justification, design, procurement, testing and implementation of capital equipment investments.
