About The Position

The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College is seeking a Full-time Assistant Teaching Professor for Advanced Manufacturing Electrical Systems. This faculty position is responsible for providing a quality learning experience for students, performing instruction-related duties in accordance with college policies, and acting as a teacher and facilitator of learning. The role involves teaching courses such as Basic Electrical Circuits, Circuit Analysis I & II, Programmable Logic Controllers I & II, Industrial Automation, and Robotics. The position requires teaching 30 credit hours per academic year, maintaining office hours, participating in professional development and college events, and fostering positive working relationships. The faculty member will demonstrate a willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology, maintain discipline-specific skills, and utilize course materials effectively. Responsibilities also include providing prompt assessment records, maintaining professionalism, organizing advisory committee meetings, supporting student participation in competitions like SkillsUSA, and completing required reports. Other duties may be assigned by department leadership.

Requirements

Associate’s degree.
Competence and experience to develop, revise, implement, and assess curriculum.
Ability to ensure students are acquiring current knowledge.
Familiarity with technology used in classroom settings.
Ability to utilize web-based educational technology.
Flexibility to teach day and evening classes.
Willingness to teach at Main Campus and other sites, including off-campus partner locations.
Willingness to teach using alternative delivery methods.
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Teach Basic Electrical Circuits, Circuit Analysis I, Circuit Analysis II, Programmable Logic Controllers I, Programmable Logic Controllers II, Industrial Automation, and Robotics courses.
Teach 30 credit hours at the undergraduate level per academic year, with potential variations based on discipline and demand.
Maintain office hours and establish a campus presence in accordance with UA-PTC Campus Presence Policy 623.
Actively and consistently participate in orientations, professional development workshops, mandatory training, events, and meetings (e.g., shared governance, commencement, convocation).
Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff.
Demonstrate a willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology.
Maintain skills and knowledge required for the discipline.
Utilize syllabus, BlackBoard, and class curriculum timelines to present information effectively for student success.
Provide prompt and accurate records of assessments and final grade reports.
Demonstrate consistent professionalism with students and commitment to cooperative work with campus personnel to fulfill the College's Mission.
Organize and host advisory committee meetings once each semester to ensure industry engagement, gather program feedback, and support continuous improvement.
Support student participation in competitions such as SkillsUSA.
Complete all required reports, including course-level or program-level outcomes assessment and academic program review, within the prescribed timeframe.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department director, school dean, or Provost.
