Advanced Fullstack Ruby / React Software Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking an Advanced Fullstack Ruby/React Engineer to join a dynamic, product-driven engineering team. In this role, you will split your time evenly between backend (Ruby on Rails) and frontend (React) development while actively managing data ingestion pipelines and complex database troubleshooting in PostgreSQL. You will also interact with AI-powered document extraction services (FastAPI, LangChain/LangGraph, Google Gemini) and leverage developer acceleration tools like GitHub Copilot. Operating with high autonomy within a small, collaborative team, you will communicate directly with Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable features and robust data processing solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with full-stack expertise in Ruby on Rails and React
- Proven track record in database querying, data flow tracing, and data investigation using PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining data ingestion or ETL-style pipelines (Excel/CSV processing, transformation, validation, and mapping maintenance)
- Demonstrated experience collaborating directly with Product Owners, teammates, and stakeholders on recurring business processes
- Full-Stack Development: Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3
- Databases & Background Jobs: PostgreSQL (advanced queries, data flow analysis), Redis, Sidekiq
- Data Processing: Client data onboarding, file parsing (CSV/Excel), ETL logic, data mapping and transformation
- Cloud & DevOps: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Git, GitHub
- AI Productivity Tools: GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
- Advanced English proficiency
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with high autonomy and self-direction
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for debugging complex data pipelines
- High adaptability and eagerness to learn new tech stacks and tools
- Excellent communication and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration skills

- Working knowledge or willingness to learn Python-based AI workflows (FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, Google Gemini)
- Experience with document extraction, PDF parsing (e.g., PyMuPDF), or unstructured data processing
- Exposure to LLM observability tools (e.g., Langfuse)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using Ruby on Rails and React
- Execute and optimize client data ingestion workflows, ensuring data cleanliness, schema validation, and proper mapping across environments
- Write complex PostgreSQL queries to investigate data anomalies, trace system data flows, and resolve production issues
- Support and collaborate with adjacent AI-powered microservices built with Python, FastAPI, and LangChain/LangGraph
- Work directly with Product Owners and business stakeholders to discuss technical approaches, refine task estimations, and streamline client data cycles
- Utilize AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery and quickly adapt to unfamiliar tech stack areas
