Position will provide support to the MDA’s Test Directorate, Consolidated Flight Test Organization in support of the test planning and execution of the Space Based Interceptor program. Candidate will provide pre-mission flight test design/scenario development and flight test execution by performing pre-mission target and interceptor trajectory generation and optimization, performing pre-mission quantitative safety and risk analyses to ensure tests can be conducted safely in accordance with Range Commanders Council safety standards, serving as the lead of Range Safety Working Group meetings at the direction of the Mission Test Director and National Test Range Safety office(s), tracking action items, data delivery schedules, analysis schedules and overseeing any analyses that the National Test Range requires from the MDA team, conducting pre-mission telemetry link and radar assessments to ensure flight test architecture meets data collection requirements, and conducting COLA (collision avoidance) assessments for day of flight execution in coordination with the 19th Space Defense Squadron and the National Test Range Safety Office authorizing tests.
