About The Position

Overview: General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated and experienced Integration and Test Engineer to join our team working on the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration, verification, and validation of various subsystems into the SWFTS combat system. This position requires a deep understanding of system-of-systems (SoS) integration and close collaboration with subsystem developers. Key Responsibilities: System Integration and Testing: Work onSoS integration, verification, and validation. Provide detailed knowledge of the SoS while working closely with subsystem developers. Documentation and Analysis: Analyze integration execution and support the generation of detailed reports. Coordination and Scheduling:Work with subsystem representatives to schedule and support integration and test events, including feature integration events, System Level Tests (SLT), and SoS Operability (SOP) events. Bug Resolution:Identify and track the resolution of bugs found during integration and testing. Coordinate with subsystem representatives to ensure timely fixes and verification. Operational Support:Provide operational support, including installation, testing, and troubleshooting of submarines dockside and at COATS. This may include occasional off-shift hours (evenings and weekends) to meet program schedules. Meeting Participation:Participate in Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) technical team meetings and working-level forums. Support meeting activities such as PRB (Program Review Board) and retrospectives on testing. Work Environment: This role may require occasional off-shift hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet critical program schedules. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible. The position involves both office and fieldwork, including dockside and COATS locations. Requirements

  • Strong background in systems integration and testing, preferably within defense or naval systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of SoS integration processes and practices.
  • Experience in generating and reviewing test documentation and products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve bugs effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work off-shift hours as needed to meet program schedules.
  • Requires a Bachelors or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
