About The Position

Seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of technical experience to become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics for the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system. This role involves developing new and modifying existing electronics, analyzing and designing analog and digital electronic circuits, integrating, testing, troubleshooting, and verifying electrical hardware, and developing test criteria. The engineer will also perform component and architecture trade studies, generate design and interface documentation, design cable assemblies, and develop technical presentations for program management and the Navy customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
  • 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable time from hire
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases
  • Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS
  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design
  • Experience with lab equipment including signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, and digital logic analyzers
  • Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • OrCAD Capture or Mentor Graphics Xpedition experience a plus
  • Experience with firmware or microcontrollers a plus
  • Experience with VHDL/Verilog a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and modify existing electronics in the form of PCB designs
  • Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including analog signal conditioning and communication interfaces
  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware
  • Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems
  • Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies
  • Generate design and interface documentation
  • Design cable assemblies
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
