About The Position

This is an open position with Ohio Edison Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The role is located in Akron, Fairlawn. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and involves various clerical and administrative duties. Responsibilities include timekeeping, telephone reception, mail sorting, processing expense accounts, credit card accounts, timesheets, and invoices in SAP. The role also involves maintaining filing and record systems, managing calendars, and making travel arrangements. Building relationships, understanding customer expectations, and using effective communication are key. The associate will participate in the storm process and be available for extended hours as needed. This role requires minimal supervision and anticipation of internal/external customer needs.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass the Company’s SASS test.
  • Must have ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work load.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum 4-7 years related work experience equivalent position.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of related work experience in the Distribution Associate position or in other equivalent position.
  • Demonstrate competence in performing all assigned duties with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Full competency and proficiency in all respective assigned duties.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthens existing relationships.
  • Ability to follow established element practices, procedures, and instructions, and produce basic administrative work products in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a solid commitment to safety.
  • Performs various clerical and administrative duties including but not limited to timekeeping, telephone reception, sorting and distributing mail.
  • Capable of performing basic correspondence and reports utilizing Microsoft Office Products and SAP.
  • Maintains filing and record systems associated with the Operations Services Section.
  • Maintains appointment calendars, meeting schedules and travel arrangements when necessary.
  • After training, must be able to perform the following duties in SAP: process and/or record expense accounts, credit card accounts, timesheets, invoices for payment, requisitions for office supplies etc.
  • Demonstrates sound internal and external customer service.
  • Builds relationships and credibility across the organization.
  • Increases understanding of customer expectations.
  • Use effective communication skills with good judgment.
  • Participate in the storm process and be available to work extended hours as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
