About The Position

The Advanced Cybersecurity Engineer - Automotive is responsible for the end-to-end security of vehicle platforms. This includes conducting threat assessments, designing secure architectures, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding cross-functional teams (Software, Hardware, and Systems Engineering) to integrate security into every stage of the Product Development Lifecycle (V-Model).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field OR a combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 4 years specifically focused on automotive or embedded systems.
  • Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet/SOME/IP, LIN, FlexRay).
  • Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE).
  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, ECC) and Key Management Systems (KMS).
  • Familiarity with embedded RTOS (e.g., QNX, Green Hills, Adaptive AUTOSAR) and Linux security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) for vehicle components and systems (e.g., ADAS, Infotainment, Powertrain, Connectivity) in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434.
  • Define and implement robust security controls, including Secure Boot, Secure Onboard Communication (SecOC), Hardware Security Modules (HSM), and encrypted Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
  • Ensure all vehicle systems meet global regulatory requirements such as UN R155 and UN R156. Maintain alignment with industry best practices (NIST, SAE).
  • Oversee penetration testing and vulnerability scanning activities. Analyze results to prioritize fixes and provide technical guidance for remediation.
  • Lead the technical response to identified security incidents or newly discovered zero-day vulnerabilities affecting the fleet.
  • Evaluate the cybersecurity posture of Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, ensuring their components meet the company's rigorous security requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of "Security by Design."
