About The Position

To provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families. This role involves clinical advancement, utilizing systematic planning, appropriate methods, and timely exchange of information with the multidisciplinary team and patient/family to coordinate care. The clinician demonstrates leadership in identifying, resolving, and evaluating system/practice/work flow issues, and is sought out for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. They possess an intuitive grasp of clinical situations, focusing on problem-solution without wasteful consideration of alternatives, and can identify high-priority potential crises before significant clinical changes are evident. The role also includes utilizing the nursing process and a critical thinking approach to provide patient care that incorporates the mind, body, and spirit; is individualized, goal-directed, and consistent with current standards of safety. The clinician serves as a recognized resource, leader, and problem-solver for staff, acting as a clinical expert and contributing to the professional development and education of other staff members. They integrate care with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate patients' access to needed resources from pre-admission to discharge, apply nursing principles in the provision of science-based comprehensive care delivery, and assume a leadership role in interdisciplinary conferences. The clinician also delegates/assigns and communicates expectations for care delivery processes, coaches team members on delegated tasks, and uses judgment to assess the appropriateness of physician's orders, initiating, redirecting, and resolving issues. They assist staff in developing communication skills, guide staff in new patient situations, and mentor others to improve clinical practice. The role involves establishing a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, serving as a resource for regulatory issues, identifying ethical dilemmas, and using complex strategies to interact with challenging patients and families. Additionally, they provide age-appropriate patient education and are a resource for developing teaching plans and modifying teaching strategies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of nursing school.
  • 2 Years recent pertinent clinical experience as defined by the CBA.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
