About The Position
Associated Ambulance is seeking a qualified Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) to join their team at the Mayerthorpe Station. This permanent full-time position offers a predictable and balanced shift schedule of four days on, followed by four days off. As an ACP with Associated Ambulance, you will be an essential part of their emergency medical response team, providing vital pre-hospital care and life-saving interventions to the community. Since 1977, Associated Ambulance has been dedicated to providing emergency medical services across Alberta. With a presence in 24 communities, they are the largest ambulance service contracted by Alberta Health Services. Their mission is to deliver the highest quality mobile healthcare to those in need, ensuring patient safety and care excellence.
Requirements
- Valid ACP Practice Permit – Meets all requirements for EMS practice in Alberta.
- Alberta Class IV Driver’s License – Current and valid.
- Successful F.A.R.E Certification
- Medical Communications Protocol (MCP)
- Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC)

Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions to determine the extent of injury or illness and immediate care requirements.
- Administer pre-hospital emergency medical care, including patient stabilization for ambulance transportation.
- Monitor vital signs, assess blood glucose levels, and perform other diagnostic procedures.
- Execute advanced life support procedures such as intubation and cardiac pacing.
- Work collaboratively with emergency medical personnel, emergency communications officers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
