About The Position

Medavie Health Services West (MHSW) is seeking an Advanced Care Paramedic to join their team. MHSW is responsible for the optimal operation and management of an integrated, service-led primary health care organization, aiming to build a healthier Saskatchewan and Alberta. Medavie Health Services is a national leader in primary health care solutions and the largest contracted provider of emergency management services in Canada. They offer a wide range of services including ground and air ambulance, medical communications, Mobile Integrated Health/Community Paramedicine programs, 911 Public Safety, 811 Telehealth, home health care, and clinical training. Medavie Health Services West (MHS West) Shamrock proudly provides emergency and medical services in Wadena, Wynyard, Foam Lake and Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, delivering innovative EMS solutions focused on high-quality patient care. The service has an annual call volume of 2500 and a peak catchment of 30,000. As an employee, you will be accountable for patient safety and fostering a safe and respectful workplace.

Requirements

  • Must be a registered ACP with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
  • Must submit with resume a copy (front and back) of a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 Driver's License (or equivalent).
  • Must submit with resume current ACLS, ITLS, and CPR C certification.
  • Must submit with resume a current (within last 60 days) valid and clean criminal record check along with a vulnerable sector check.
  • Must submit with resume a current (within last 30 days) driver’s abstract.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
  • Must have a high regard for confidentiality.
  • Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Independent advance clinical care.
  • Safe transportation of individuals, including emergency and non-emergency responses, as well as inter-facility transfers.
  • Maintain and operate ambulances and related equipment in accordance with patient needs and public safety.
  • Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Advanced Care Paramedics are based on the current National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP), the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics registration requirements and Medavie Health Services West policies, procedures and protocols.
