About The Position

Create cutting-edge battery systems that provide industry-leading performance for future electric vehicles. Work on systems engineering of high-voltage, lithium-ion battery packs for future GM vehicles. Collaborate cross-functionally with vehicle, propulsion, cell, thermal, electrical, safety, and analysis teams to converge on battery pack requirements that will meet customer needs. Work with battery design teams to develop architectures, select components, and prove the designs meet requirements through analysis. Partner with Propulsion Systems Engineering and Cell Systems Engineering teams to ensure appropriate pack and cell requirements are set that achieve program requirements and align with sub-system and component technology roadmaps. Partner with the Virtual Design, Development, and Validation Team to utilize virtual tools which assess the performance of battery pack designs against program requirements. Participate in technical trade-off studies within the battery pack to select optimal designs from many alternatives and support the propulsion and vehicle teams with trade-off studies external to the battery pack. Collaborate with Battery Systems Technical Specialists to ensure deliverables and analyses are performed in accordance with GM standard work processes. Continuously benchmark automotive and other industries to identify and implement innovative technologies for electric vehicles. Protect intellectual property by inventing and supporting inventors on the team to submit Records of Invention.
