Requirements

5 or more years of relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, automotive, heavy equipment, mechanical, maintenance, skilled trades, or a related field
Demonstrated experience using hand and power tools
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, schematics, or technical work instructions
Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to perform skilled assembly work
Ability to measure, align, fit, and assemble components accurately
Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
Perform all assigned tasks
Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills
Recognize and react to abnormal operating conditions
Use and wear personal protective equipment as indicated by the task or environment
Hear safety alarms and other co-workers
Perform basic counting tasks
Read tape measure, safety manuals, work orders, and blue prints effectively
Follow instructions from supervisors and other co-workers
Understand and identify safety issues
Maintain balance when walking and standing on potential slippery work floor
Maintain balance when climbing on a portable step, ladders, and trucks
Individually lift and manipulate parts/equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
Tolerate constant standing while performing tasks along with occasional awkward positions to complete the tasks
Have good hand eye coordination
Use both hands for tool operation, carrying of parts, and assisting co-workers with heavy lifting of parts
Distinguish the difference in various parts and equipment
Operate and access heavy equipment safely and effectively

Responsibilities

Perform complex mechanical and component assembly using established specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Independently read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work orders
Assemble, install, align, and adjust parts, components, and subassemblies
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring equipment
Perform drilling, sanding, grinding, buffing, fastening, clamping, gluing, and other assembly processes
Measure components and verify proper fit, alignment, and installation
Identify assembly issues and perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets established quality and workmanship standards
Recognize incorrect, damaged, or nonconforming parts and escalate concerns appropriately
Safely operate cranes, hoists, and other equipment used to position components
Follow established safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures
Work collaboratively with production, quality, engineering, materials, and other team members to resolve issues
Share technical knowledge and assist less-experienced team members as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Complete required production documentation, work orders, and checklists
Work scheduled hours, maintain reliable attendance, and work overtime when required
Install and route electrical wiring, cables, and harnesses (depending on assigned production area)
Assemble or install mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, electrical, or other vehicle systems (depending on assigned production area)
Access digital blueprints, specifications, and work instructions (depending on assigned production area)
Perform functional testing of parts, components, or equipment (depending on assigned production area)
Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment (depending on assigned production area)
Assist with training and onboarding team members (depending on assigned production area)
Support other production areas based on business needs (depending on assigned production area)
