About The Position

The Advance Practice Registered Nurse will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services. This role involves taking medical histories, examining patients, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses, and developing treatment plans including prescribing medications. The nurse will also manage injuries, attend to medical emergencies, record progress notes, consult with other physicians, and provide necessary therapy. Additionally, the role includes performing minor surgery, collaborating with physicians, assisting in healthcare delivery planning, identifying serious physical, emotional, or mental problems, managing daily clinic operations, conducting sick calls, and providing a wide range of emergency services in the absence of a physician.

Requirements

  • Must be certified to practice medicine in the State of Florida
  • Must provide proof of current, active, unincumbered license to practice in the State of Florida
  • Must hold a current BLS/CPR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services
  • Take medical histories and examine patients
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
  • Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications
  • Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
  • Attend to medical emergencies
  • Record progress notes
  • Recommend clinically necessary outside consultation
  • Instruct and counsel patients
  • Order or carry out therapy
  • Perform emergency consultation when deemed necessary
  • Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits
  • Work collaboratively with staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans
  • Assist in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of health care services
  • Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
  • Manage the daily operation of the clinic
  • Conduct daily sick calls, which may include securing health histories, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
  • Provide a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician
