Riverside is currently seeking a Full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hospitalist team at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Virgina.

Requirements

Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctoral degree (MSN or DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Nurse Practitioner: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license with a specialty designation aligned to inpatient care.
National NP certification in the appropriate specialty: Hospitalist/Inpatient Medicine: Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP‑BC preferred)
Physician Assistant: Active and unrestricted Virginia PA license.
Current NCCPA certification.
Active DEA registration (or eligibility).
Eligibility for Schedule II–VI prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Current BLS and ACLS (required for inpatient clinical settings).
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Prior inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred but not required.
New graduates with strong acute‑care clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide direct inpatient care in collaboration with Hospitalist physicians.
Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
Perform procedures as credentialed and trained (e.g., central lines, intubation, etc.).
Participate in daily rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning.
Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
