Advance Practice Nurse - Psychiatric Services
About The Position
Heritage Behavioral Health Center is seeking an attentive, conscientious Advance Practice Nurse to join its expanding Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in Decatur, Illinois. The role works with a team of professionals to improve the overall health of individuals with serious mental illness or substance use diagnoses. Services are provided face-to-face in an outpatient setting and address a wide range of medical conditions. The nurse provides psychiatric care to Heritage clients, participates in treatment-team case reviews, consults with staff, and provides staff training and education as requested. The position requires active Illinois APN licensure and current Department of Justice Controlled Substance Licensure. Full-Authority APN licensure is desired. Previous experience serving people with mental illness or substance use diagnoses is highly recommended. The stated salary range is $125,000–$175,000 per year, dependent on education and experience. Requirements
- Current, active, and undisciplined Advance Practice Nurse (APN) licensure in the State of Illinois.
- Current Department of Justice Controlled Substance Licensure.
- Knowledge of medical resources available in Macon and DeWitt Counties.
- Ability to relate to economically disadvantaged and minority populations.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Caring and attentive nature.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to chart services in electronic clinical records.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Full-Authority APN licensure is desired.
- Previous experience with the mentally ill or substance-using population is highly recommended.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person psychiatric services in an outpatient setting, treating a wide range of medical conditions.
- Provide psychiatric diagnosis, evaluation, screening, physical examinations, treatment planning, and overall treatment for Heritage clients.
- Participate in case reviews with the respective treatment teams.
- Provide consultation to staff as necessary.
- Provide staff training, consultation, and education services as requested.
- Chart services in electronic clinical records.
