About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical compounded products to various customers by complying with Federal, State, and U.S. Pharmacopeia requirements. This role is preserved for pharmacy technicians whose primary function is to perform sterile compounding. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations. You will enjoy three days off a week while working four 10-hour days.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician required.
• Minimum of 2 (2) years of sterile compounding experience required.
• Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy
• Pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam or accepted national certification program within 90 days from hire.
• Completed competencies in sterile compounding, including hazardous compounding.

Nice To Haves

• Previous lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Competent to work in the IV room, including performing high risk/hazardous compounding.
• Advanced understanding of current USP standards, documentation, and EMR compounding workflows.
• Provides some functional supervision of technicians.
• Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service.
• Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
• Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students.
• Mentors technicians in learning new tasks.
• Strives for and models exactness in following defined sterile procedure and aseptic technique.
