About The Position

Experienced Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a NEW practice in Sarasota, Florida. Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP | FNP) or Physician Assistant in our Sarasota market. We are seeking a well-trained, compassionate, enthusiastic provider looking to provide exceptional care in our employed practice. We are located in the highly desirable area of Sarasota, FL, which is on the West Coast of Florida and close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country – Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key. The community is known for its excellent public and private schools and a vast array of activities for all ages to enjoy.

Opportunity Highlights:
Join a multidisciplinary physician group specializing in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics.
Full-time, clinic-based position
Average of 18 patients/day
Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM
Acute/sick, wellness, and physician overflow visits
No after-hours evening or weekend call
EMR system: EPIC
New office location is scheduled to open in January 2027 on Bee Ridge Road.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of three years of advanced practice provider (APP) experience providing comprehensive care to patients across the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Graduate from accredited APRN or PA program
• Certification in professional specialty
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Florida
• BLS
• Require advanced degree from an accredited school or college of nursing
• Must have had a Medicare number in the State of Florida prior to 1/1/03; if not, must have a Master’s Degree in nursing in addition to being a Registered Professional Nurse who is authorized by Florida to practice in accordance with state law.
• Require approved APRN board certification.
• Must be certified as a APRN by a recognized national certifying body having established standards for APRN’s. The following organizations are recognized national certifying bodies for the Nurse Practitioner: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Credentialing Center; National Certification Corporation for Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties; National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners & Nurses; Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation; Critical Care Certification Corporation; National Commission on Certification; American Association of Heart Failure Nurses; and the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients across the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Function as part of the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective advanced nursing care to patients within the APRN’s scope of practice.
• Perform all duties that are considered routine duties of a registered nurse.
• Provide acute/sick, wellness, and physician overflow visits.
• Document in medical records to substantiate accurate billing.
