The Adult Services Librarian promotes the mission and values of the Greene County Public Library by carrying out objectives and goals of the strategic plan to better serve the community. This role provides information services to adults and children using print and electronic sources. The position involves answering reference and reader's advisory questions, instructing library users, assisting in collection development, planning and presenting library programs for adults or families, preparing displays and bibliographies, troubleshooting electronic resources, and potentially assuming "person in charge" responsibilities in the absence of supervisors. The librarian will also assist in training employees, perform opening/closing procedures, and stay current with professional developments through various means. Additionally, the role includes gathering statistics, preparing reports, and performing tasks of lower-level classifications as necessary.
