About The Position

SOUND Behavioral Health is hiring an Adult Services Clinician in Seattle, WA. This role offers a supportive working environment, excellent supervision, and opportunities for professional growth. The clinician will help clients understand their behaviors, teach them how to change their responses to unfavorable situations, and assist them in developing healthier coping mechanisms. SOUND clinicians are focused on demonstrating compassion, patience, and understanding when treating clients, and the organization advocates for Diversity, Equity, Justice, and Inclusion for its team and clients. The position is on-site at the Northgate clinic and operates Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies required.
Washington State driver’s license and insurable driving record required.
Must be able to obtain an active LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT within 120 days of hire.
Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential through the Washington State Department of Health as required under RCW 18.19 – Counselors.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners in person by telephone, and through virtual platforms.
Hear and understand conversations in person and over the phone in office and community settings.
Read and interpret written materials, clinical documentation, policies, and electronic health records.
Observe and assess client behavior, emotional state, and environmental safety cues during clinical interactions.
Use visual acuity to review documentation, reports, and electronic systems.
Sit for extended periods while completing documentation, virtual meetings, and computer-based work.
Frequently use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, phone, and other office equipment.
Occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach while interacting with clients or retrieving files or materials.
Travel within the community as required to meet with clients, attend meetings, or conduct outreach.
Lift or move items such as files, laptops, or office materials (typically up to 10–20 pounds).
Maintain the ability to engage clients in both office and community-based environments.
Maintain concentration and attention to detail while documenting clinical services and reviewing records.
Analyze complex client situations and apply clinical judgment in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
Manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Demonstrate emotional regulation and professionalism when working with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises or distress.
Exercise sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in both routine and urgent situations.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA.
Adapt to changing client needs, program requirements, and organizational priorities.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager and demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment plans, preferred.
Crisis experience preferred.
Possesses excellent judgment, effective communication and strong collaboration skills.
Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy and/or case management approach to providing services.
Possesses strong working knowledge of the physical and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.
Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.
Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population.

Responsibilities

Provides a range of intensive outpatient services to an assigned group serving the overall adult population.
Provides intensive case management services with outreach and engagement services.
Develops and implements time-limited or longer-term interventions as part of an outcome-oriented treatment plan within a managed care framework.
Participates actively in the treatment planning and review process, including supporting documentation of clinical services performed.
Works with primary care physicians, DSHS programs, inpatient facilities, mental health residential facilities, and other adult servicing agencies to develop comprehensive treatment plans for clients with significant behavioral health problems.
Performs case management, including coordination and consultation with other service providers and community resources, and referrals to facilitate meeting client needs.
Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
Performs outreaches/services to community locations to engage clients in care.
Meets service intensity expectations to comply with County and State standards.
Prepares necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes, and incorporates them into clinical records.
Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.
Assists clients to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
