About The Position

SOUND Behavioral Health is seeking an Adult Services Clinician in Seattle, WA. This role offers a supportive working environment, excellent supervision, and opportunities for professional growth. Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies.
  • One year of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager.
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment plans.
  • Washington State driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain an active LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT within 120 days of hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential through the Washington State Department of Health as required under RCW 18.19 – Counselors.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners in person, by telephone, and through virtual platforms.
  • Hear and understand conversations in person and over the phone in office and community settings.
  • Read and interpret written materials, clinical documentation, policies, and electronic health records.
  • Observe and assess client behavior, emotional state, and environmental safety cues during clinical interactions.
  • Use visual acuity to review documentation, reports, and electronic systems.
  • Sit for extended periods while completing documentation, virtual meetings, and computer-based work.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, phone, and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach while interacting with clients or retrieving files or materials.
  • Travel within the community as required to meet with clients, attend meetings, or conduct outreach.
  • Lift or move items such as files, laptops, or office materials (typically up to 10–20 pounds).
  • Maintain the ability to engage clients in both office and community-based environments.
  • Maintain concentration and attention to detail while documenting clinical services and reviewing records.
  • Analyze complex client situations and apply clinical judgment in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
  • Manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate emotional regulation and professionalism when working with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises or distress.
  • Exercise sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in both routine and urgent situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA.
  • Adapt to changing client needs, program requirements, and organizational priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Providing a range of intensive outpatient services to the adult population, including intensive case management with outreach and engagement services.
  • Developing and implementing time-limited or longer-term interventions as part of an outcome-oriented treatment plan within a managed care framework.
  • Participating actively in the treatment planning and review process, including supporting documentation of clinical services.
  • Collaborating with primary care physicians, DSHS programs, inpatient facilities, mental health residential facilities, and other adult servicing agencies to develop comprehensive treatment plans for clients with significant behavioral health problems.
  • Coordinating and consulting with other service providers and community resources, and making referrals to facilitate meeting client needs.
  • Providing direct services and/or referrals for clients.
  • Developing treatment plans and maintaining accurate and timely clinical records.
  • Performing outreaches and services to community locations to engage clients in care.
  • Meeting service intensity expectations according to County and State standards.
  • Preparing necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes, and incorporating them into clinical records.
  • Performing consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.
  • Assisting clients to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
  • Monitoring medication regimes and treatment compliance.
  • Monitoring utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
  • Participating in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
  • Participating in ongoing program development and assessment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
