About The Position

We are seeking an Adult Psychiatrist for a Locum Tenens position in Cooperstown, NY. This role involves providing clinical care and call coverage for a 14-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. The psychiatrist will be responsible for conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, managing medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires the physician to serve as the sole physician covering the unit and to document patient encounters using the Epic EMR system. Coverage is ongoing starting July 20, 2026, with a Monday-Friday schedule and rotating call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Active New York Medical License
• Board Certified
• Active DEA
• Inpatient Psychiatry Experience

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care for hospitalized adult patients
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans
• Manage medications and monitor patient progress
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and multidisciplinary care teams
• Provide weekend and weeknight call coverage as scheduled
• Serve as the sole physician covering the inpatient psychiatric unit
• Document patient encounters using Epic EMR
