About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a crucial member of the patient care team, responsible for both direct and indirect patient care. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team, the RN will provide day-to-day care for patients, specifically children and adolescents aged 6-18, on an inpatient behavioral unit. Common diagnoses treated include major depression and ADD/ADHD. This position involves medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care, and managing/monitoring patient behaviors throughout the unit. Additionally, the RN will participate in and lead educational groups.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required
- Valid State of Maine RN license required
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of previous nursing experience required
- CPI Training required
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to communicate at multiple levels: with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
- Capability to manage stress appropriately in challenging situations
- Strong professional boundaries
- Dedicated team player
- Self-directed and proactive during downtime
Nice To Haves
- 1-3 years of previous nursing experience working with adults preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care for patients, specifically children and adolescents aged 6-18, on an inpatient behavioral unit.
