About The Position

This posting is for two positions which are home-based and involve field work in the relevant Vermont counties. The primary areas of coverage for one position include Bennington and Wyndam counties and the other position include Orleans, Essex, and Caledonia. The Service Navigators role is to take a victim centered approach to allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation to enhance the quality of life for the vulnerable adult while reducing the risk of future harm. The successful candidate will need to develop relationships with community partners, have a knowledge of what resources are available in the counties that they cover, as well as engage family members and potential perpetrators to ensure that the vulnerable is safe and has the resources they need.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, gerontology/aging, disabilities, psychology, or closely related field AND one (1) year or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
  • Associate's degree AND five (5) years or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
  • High School diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) year or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
  • Must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Must have private means of transportation available for considerable field travel.
