Adult Health Visiting Professor
About The Position
Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelors of Science in Nursing program. We are presently accepting applications for candidates who have interest in teaching in the following specialties: Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing. The focus of this course is on the needs of adult patients and their families in relation to health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. The nursing process is used in the discussion of health alterations affecting selected life processes. Students continue their professional skill development as members of the health team. In this role, the clinical instructor implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession. They assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments, plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals. The instructor evaluates and provides documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives, and is available for remediation of students as required or needed. They orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel, and develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning needs. The instructor grades homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner. They may teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator and keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns. The instructor reports to the dean or assistant dean, and a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing Required
- 2+ years of direct patient care experience in the relevant clinical specialty or content area to which the faculty member is assigned, ensuring sufficient expertise to support safe, effective, and evidence-based instruction Required
- Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment.
- Professional Nurse licensure is required in the state of practice. Required

Responsibilities

- The expected salary range for this position is between $65 per hour.
