About The Position

Compass Health Center is seeking a group therapist for its Adult programs. The role focuses primarily on facilitating evidence-based groups for adults, using approaches such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. The therapist will provide care in a safe, therapeutic milieu and collaborate with the treatment team to support patients experiencing mental health challenges. The position is based at Compass’s state-of-the-art Oak Brook facility. It may also include individual case-management meetings with patients.

Requirements

Be a psychologist or master’s-level therapist.
Hold or be eligible for an LSW or LPC license, or hold an LCSW, LCPC, PsyD, or PhD qualification.
Possess core Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills.
Have a passion for facilitating group therapy and working collaboratively with others.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting; this experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide group therapy to patients aged 18 and older in a safe and therapeutic milieu.
Develop therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients.
Use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based therapies.
Share relevant clinical information with the treatment team during daily rounds and as needed.
Develop program materials and adjust group therapy content to meet group needs.
Engage in crisis management as needed.
Create and update treatment plans.
Document care in the electronic medical records system.
Participate in professional development activities.
Meet individually with patients for case management when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
