Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and valid Arkansas Teacher's License OR Masters degree in an academic subject.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in foundational and secondary-level mathematics (e.g., arithmetic, fractions, decimals, ratios, algebra, geometry, data analysis).
  • Prepare students for attaining their GED.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with state adult education standards and measurable learning objectives.
  • Incorporate contextualized instruction (e.g., math for workforce, financial literacy, or college readiness).
  • Utilize varied instructional strategies including direct instruction, collaborative learning, and technology-assisted learning.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional adjustments.
  • Support diverse learners and students with learning differences.
  • Provide academic advising related to math achievement goals.
  • Promote retention through engagement strategies and culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Maintain attendance and performance documentation.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with workforce partners, counselors, and program administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with adult education policies and funding requirements.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory.
  • Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
