Adult Education Instructor
About The Position
The Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (UA Cossatot) is seeking an Adult Education Instructor. UA Cossatot has four vibrant campuses and over 1500 students learning in a variety of for-credit disciplines plus a host of area industry employees sharpening their skills through our workforce training programs. UA Cossatot prides itself on a safe work environment, where all employees undergo rigorous background checks and are welcomed to the college with an abundance of hands-on orientations to their positions. UA Cossatot also embraces Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) where everything we do is measured and analyzed to ensure we are giving students the very best we have to offer. CQI involves all employees and completes a cycle that starts with the strategic plan and ends with an Institutional Effectiveness Evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Arkansas Teaching License
- Must be friendly, approachable, and possess a strong desire to teach
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and Child Maltreatment Registry check
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in an educational setting
- Developing and updating individual learning plans for students
- Conducting structured classes or one-on-one instruction
- Organizing and leading student events
- Incorporating instructional aids and educational media
- Coordinating guest speakers or special demonstrations to enhance the curriculum
- Providing individualized instruction as needed
- Maintaining accurate student records (including attendance, assessments, progression, and achievements)
- Advising students on both short- and long-term educational goals
- Student recruitment and retention
- Participation in annual professional development activities
