About The Position

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment at the Adult Day Center in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, dining areas, bathrooms, common areas, floors, entryways, and other facility spaces. The position requires the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with older adults, including individuals with cognitive impairments or Dementia. The employee must maintain confidentiality, follow agency policies and procedures, exercise good judgment, and complete assigned duties and documentation accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience cleaning and sanitizing public or special-population facilities.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and current insurance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use standard business applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong reliability, professionalism, judgment, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully with older adults, individuals with disabilities, and diverse populations.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable laws and organizational policies.
  • Must pass required background checks, drug screening, and fingerprinting as applicable.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience working with older adults

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, countertops, shelving, coolers, steam tables, floors, and walls.
  • Clean and disinfect dining tables, chairs, floors, and other common areas.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, fixtures, and floors.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility on a regular basis and as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized storage, supply, kitchen, and program areas.
  • Remove trash and replenish bathroom paper supplies as needed.
  • Maintain clean entryways and windows.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the Site Manager when additional supplies are needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive communication with clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Complete required documentation and training in a timely manner.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with changing priorities and other duties as assigned.
