About The Position

The Herma Heart Institute has an opportunity for a nurse to join the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) team! This nurse will be paired with a provider supporting both an ACHD and pediatric clinic seeing patients ranging from infancy to 18+ years. In addition, this nurse will support our transition program for our pediatric cardiology patients 16 years and over.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three to four years nursing experience, in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of patient care within a defined patient population, and gain knowledge and skill in nursing procedures and standards.
• Current CPR certification ' Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification - American Heart Association (AHA) training will be required within the first year of joining our team.
• License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin

Nice To Haves

• Cardiac experience highly preferred
• Adult experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide and help coordinate care to adult patients with suspected or diagnosed congenital heart disease, in a manner that supports the continuity of care for this diverse and complex population.
• Assist in program development and research initiatives in effort to improve the care and outcomes of all adults with congenital heart disease across the state of Wisconsin and Midwest.
• Provide care to our pediatric patients through a bi-monthly pediatric focused clinic.
