About The Position

The Adult Behavioral Consultant works with the Supervisor of Behavioral Consultation Services and a team of Behavioral Consultants to provide a range of applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessment and clinical services for adolescents and adults, ages 18 and older, with autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis or related discipline
  • BCBA certification and license to practice Behavior Analysis in Virginia required
  • Experience working with adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders preferred
  • Experience with staff and parent training and supervision
  • Must have previous experience conducting behavioral assessments, developing annual goals, and developing BSPs with function-based replacement behaviors
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Valid driver’s license is required

Responsibilities

  • Manages behavioral consultation caseload as assigned (approximately 25 hours/week)
  • Administers, conducts, evaluates the implementation of functional assessments
  • Develops person-centered behavioral outcomes and objectives for home-, center-, and community-based programs and designs behavioral interventions based on functional assessment data
  • Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavioral interventions and the achievement of individual outcomes and objectives
  • Modifies behavioral interventions as needed in a timely manner and ensures that relevant staff are notified and trained accordingly
  • Trains relevant staff, parents and/or caregivers on the proper implementation of behavioral interventions, data collection systems, and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems
  • Consults with other treatment providers and stakeholders as needed
  • Is responsible for ongoing individual program oversight and reviewing program data regularly
  • Meets regularly with Supervisor of Behavioral Consultation and notifies them immediately of issues impacting individual progress and satisfaction
  • Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Supervisor of Behavioral Consultation
  • Assists with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and BCaBA supervision as assigned and implements fidelity checklists as outlined
  • Provides BCBA/BCaBA candidates with field experience hours weekly
  • Complies with DBHDS regulations
  • Collaborates with supervisor to ensure BSPs are submitted for review by the Human Rights Committee as outlined by current regulations
