About The Position

Smithfield is seeking an ADU Utility 2 with a CDL to assist in various site operations. This role involves responding to hot spot services, delivering and retrieving roll-off containers, covering emergency routes, groundskeeping, light maintenance, sanitation, and animal removal. The employee will operate farm equipment, trucks, and other machinery as directed to maintain the ADU facility. Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to perform hard physical labor.
Strong commitment to teamwork.
Ability to follow instructions and deal with standardized situations.
Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
Willingness to be on call when needed.
Ability to operate a forklift and standard farm/utility equipment such as bobcat, tractor, lawnmower, weed eater, etc.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
CDL B required.
CDL A preferred.
1-year minimum driving experience.
Valid Medical Card.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Must be able to walk an average of 2 – 4 miles per day, occasionally up to 5 or 6.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a limited basis.
Must be able to occasionally work in situations two feet above the floor in a leaned-over or squatted position.
Must be able to operate a high-pressure washing system.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Must be able to tolerate blood, animal dander, manure, dust, odors, and frequently noisy conditions.
Lockout/Tagout, Affected/Awareness Level Powered Industrial Vehicle Training.

Responsibilities

Respond to "hot spot" service needs from other departments, growers, and vendors.
Assist with the delivery and retrieval of roll-off containers.
Provide route truck coverage as needed to meet scheduling requirements.
Assemble ADU containers and load them for on-site pickup using a forklift.
Deliver ADU containers to farms and other locations for purchases and returns.
Install refrigeration ADU container cameras, and perform repairs and troubleshooting as directed.
Wash and sanitize the interior and exterior of trucks and trailers.
Assist with emergency spill cleanups and container delivery when requested.
Sanitize and wash multiple areas on the site using high-pressure equipment.
Assist with facility and equipment maintenance.
Drive an internal service truck to various sites for delivery or pickup of supplies.
Assist with mortality removal.
Perform grounds and facility upkeep, including cutting grass, taking out trash, and cleaning inside and outside the facility.
Perform regular light maintenance and repairs as required.
Follow the safety requirements of the Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS).
Abide by all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to change plans according to leadership direction.
Work as a team player to accomplish daily department work requirements and goals.
Comply with all environmental laws and procedures, and report environmental issues immediately to a supervisor.
Understand the company's emergency notification process and its application to their worksite.
