As the ADON, you will play a key leadership role, supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the overall clinical operations of the assisted living community and ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in medical/surgical, rehab, or geriatric nursing; including two (2) years of experience as a Charge Nurse in geriatric care with progressive experience in an administrative and supervisor category
  • Current RN License from the State of MD
  • Current CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification within 30 days
  • MD Delegating nurse certificate or obtained within 30 days
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations
  • Computer Literacy

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the effectiveness of nursing practices with managing 24-hour nursing care in accordance with current policies, regulations, and guidelines that govern assisted living facilities.
  • Assist with staffing coordination, schedule oversight, and coverage planning to ensure adequate clinical staffing.
  • Perform daily rounds on assigned floors to observe and evaluate residents’ conditions and ensure personnel are performing work assignments in accordance with acceptable standards and residents' service plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate resident service plan meetings, ensuring interdisciplinary participation, regulatory compliance, and communication with residents and families.
  • Complete and administer admission, readmission, 45-day, and Resident Assessment Tool per Assisted Living regulation and organizational policy.
  • Assist with annual compliance activities, regulatory surveys, audits, quality assurance initiatives, policy reviews, and other organizational projects to maintain regulatory readiness.
  • Monitor infection prevention and control practices and assist with outbreak response, surveillance, and staff education.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and ongoing coaching for nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with HR Department in the recruiting, interviewing, and orientation process of new hires, as well as seeking assistance with managing associate performance deficiencies.
  • Participate in the nursing department on-call rotation, alternating on-call responsibilities with the Director of Nursing and responding to clinical, staffing, and emergency situations as needed.
