About The Position

They provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare services, including psychiatry, addiction recovery, and mental disorder treatment, to help clients reclaim health and well-being. Their outpatient treatment program in Erie, Pennsylvania, offers a supportive and therapeutic environment where individuals can develop coping skills, build resilience, and reclaim overall health and well-being. The company is currently seeking a full-time Adolescent Counselor to join their dedicated outpatient clinical team, focusing on helping children overcome substance use and mental health challenges.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related Behavioral Health field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related Behavioral Health field plus at least one year of clinical experience
  • CADC or CAADC certification
  • Ability to travel independently between sites
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Successfully pass a drug screening
  • Successfully pass any required state mandated clearances

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mental health, substance use disorder, or co occurring disorder treatment
  • Knowledge of ethical, professional clinical practices
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, state licensing regulations, and CARF standards
  • Ability to manage crises calmly and effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented clinical environment
  • Possession of strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy in an outpatient setting
  • Visit schools in the local area to provide additional group therapy and counseling
  • Conduct client intake assessments and assist with individualized treatment plan development
  • Support daily clinical operations, including assessments and utilization review
  • Maintain an assigned caseload with timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Complete insurance and utilization reviews as required
  • Attend shift change meetings, clinical supervision, and required company meetings
  • Assist the Program Director with program coverage and service coordination
  • Maintain compliant and organized client files, including required clerical documentation
  • Provide crisis intervention and maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic environment
  • Actively listen to and support clients throughout all stages of treatment and recovery
  • Complete required trainings and maintain mandatory continuing education hours
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
