Admixture Technician
About The Position
Connecticut Oncology Group offers patients hope they need with state-of-the-art treatment. We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve. This is a private oncology practice of five physicians and two nurse practitioners, located in Westbrook and Middletown.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years experience in a practice pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of computer system.
- Knowledge of daily infusion center operations pertaining to mixing and dispensing medications.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precaution to maintain a safe work environment.
- Skill in reading doctor/nurses orders and interpreting doses.
- Skill in mixing IV products accurately.
- Must be willing to travel between our Middletown and Westbrook locations.
Nice To Haves
- National Pharmacy Certification a plus.
- Prior oncology experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ordering, stocking of IV medications and maintaining adequate supplies and medications needed for the infusion center.
- Maintaining order and cleanliness in the drug preparation area and the infusion room.
- Accurately prepares IV products in an efficient manner according to guidelines and aseptic technique.
