About The Position

This is a Contract position based out of San Pedro, CA 90732. The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. This position is anticipated to close on Jul 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and medical information to ensure accurate registration and reimbursement.
  • Utilize EPIC to complete patient intake, pre-registration, and demographic verification processes.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits, including HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medicaid coverage plans.
  • Identify services requiring prior authorization and coordinate approvals, referrals, and treatment authorizations.
  • Process claims-related requests, attach referrals, and ensure all required documentation is obtained before services are rendered.
  • Authorize patient admissions and coordinate bed placement activities in collaboration with clinical and case management teams.
  • Collect patient co-pays and educate patients regarding financial responsibility, shared costs, and payment options.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, physician offices, case managers, healthcare facilities, and internal departments to resolve registration and authorization issues.
  • Receive and manage calls from case managers, external healthcare organizations, and ministry-affiliated facilities regarding patient admissions and authorizations.
  • Apply medical terminology knowledge when reviewing patient information and communicating with healthcare providers.
  • Support multiple remote locations and collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless patient access operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a positive experience for patients, families, providers, and internal stakeholders both in person and over the phone.
