Under general supervision, interviews patients to obtain necessary information, prepares admission/registration forms, and performs other clerical/computer operational tasks related to the admission of inpatients and outpatients coming into our Medical Center. This role requires knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills, and excellent communication and customer service abilities. The position also involves ensuring patient and workplace safety, and demonstrating competency in delivering age-specific care. The Admitting Officer is responsible for performing admitting functions, answering calls and call bells, ensuring patients get to testing on time, maintaining paperwork, keeping accurate logs, updating equipment repair logs, arranging ambulance transports, copying paperwork for transfers, and ordering dietary trays.
