About The Position

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a part-time and full-time Admitting Clerk to join our Admissions Team at the Regional Medical Center location! This role requires a friendly individual with close attention to detail, who is willing to assist and communicate with patients regarding their registration into the hospital. This position may require evening and weekend shifts as well as travel to different locations as needed.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
At least one year experience in an office setting, required.
Comprehensive computer skills with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher.

Responsibilities

Greet patients/visitors in a courteous, welcoming manner
Ensure patient understands and signs all required forms as it pertains to the patient’s registration/admission
Accurate entry of all required information into the hospital system
Collect payment when applicable
Notify the clinical department with the physician order for all outpatient services and prompt notification to the ER clinical staff of individuals seeking emergency services
Verify that all patient and insurance information is entered accurately and that authorization is obtained for the services rendered
Coordinate with referring physician office as it pertains to registration requirements
