About The Position

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting high school and transfer students to attend ULM. This role involves building relationships with stakeholders at assigned schools, managing recruitment zones, and corresponding with students, parents, and counselors.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Appropriate experience in college admissions, student services, marketing, or related area

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with stakeholders at assigned schools
  • Recruit assigned zone by attending college and career fairs, classroom visits, and lunch visits
  • Complete recruitment package drop-offs at area schools
  • Identify target schools in assigned zone(s)
  • Schedule visits with each of the schools throughout the Fall and Spring semesters
  • Correspond with students and parents throughout the recruitment and admissions process
  • Correspond with High School Counselors year-round
  • Work recruiting events
  • Lead campus tours as needed
  • Substitute for other recruiters when travel overlaps
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff in the recruitment of students at university events
  • Follow up with students who have shown interest in the university
  • Run enrollment reports through Recruit/ARGOS
  • Be able to work extensively in Banner and any other university technology systems
  • Other duties as assigned
