About The Position

Frostburg State University (FSU), Office of Admissions seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Admissions Counselor position. This role helps plan and coordinate undergraduate recruitment efforts for first-time and transfer students to support enrollment growth across all FSU programs. In collaboration with admissions staff, the position carries out recruitment strategies designed to optimize student engagement and yield at each stage of the admissions process, contributing to the enrollment of a highly qualified incoming class aligned with the University’s enrollment objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of related experience.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively and promote a culturally diverse prospective student population.
  • Valid non-commercial driver’s license.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).

Responsibilities

  • Providing information regarding admissions standards and requirements for prospective students.
  • Working directly with prospective students through the admissions, financial aid, scholarship, and application process.
  • Implementing recruitment activities such as campus trips, presentations, Saturday visits, virtual events, resource tables, application workshops, and designated area projects.
  • Frequent travel to high schools and two-year colleges with some overnight travel required.
  • Other duties as needed to assist with student enrollment.
