About The Position

WVU Parkersburg is a Community and Technical College located in Parkersburg, WV along with Jackson County Center in Ripley, WV and Innovation Technology Center in Vienna, WV. We are not a branch of West Virginia University. We are dedicated to teaching and are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to offer certificates, associate and bachelor’s degrees. This is an on-site position. Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance and punctuality are expected to ensure performance of the essential function of the job, including scheduled meetings and shifts. This is a 37.50 hour per week position. May require working alternate hours or alternate locations upon request to support campus mission. Standard hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, counseling education, marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of institutional software such as Banner, Oracle, Microsoft Office or similar software
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize as needed and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive material

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of customer service in higher education or similar organization

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement enrollment management and student services programs, on and off campus.
  • Represent WVU Parkersburg and disseminate information to potential students, including serving as first contact to prospective and returning students and initiating correspondence with prospective students, parents, and community members.
  • Answer questions regarding enrollment management policies and procedures, remaining current admission requirements curriculum development, financial aid requirements and regulations concerning the release of student information.
  • Coordinate, implement, and attend recruiting activities, and programs including but not limited to college days/fairs and high school visits.
  • Maintain inventory of recruiting materials.
  • Serve as host for new students who do not have an appointment for enrollment services by determining admission status and assisting with the applications process using the approved checklist.
  • Plan or participate in special programs and events including new student orientation, open houses and Graduation.
  • Conduct outbound calling per approved checklist and analyses results as requested.
  • Maintain contact applicants and recruits in CRM (Free Agent).
  • Maintain cross-training knowledge in order to provide for backup across the Student Services division.
  • Represent WVU Parkersburg on committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and meetings at regional and state level.
  • Assist supervisor with public speaking assignments to promote WVU Parkersburg.
  • Maintain membership in state and national advising and admissions professional organizations.
  • Participate in evening and weekend events that help promote WVU Parkersburg and recruit students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
