About The Position

Assists in the recruitment, admissions and enrollment of youth into the Job Corps Program. The Outreach Admissions Counselor's role is to ensure that the contractual goal is met during the appraisal period and that individual ratings are at or above 100%. This involves developing corrective action plans for any measures below 100%, actively participating in meetings, and collaborating with Center Staff on outreach activities and center functions. The position requires verifying applicant eligibility according to PRH guidelines, supporting on-center measures, and ensuring student employee retention. The counselor must adhere to PRH requirements, maintain integrity, and provide accurate information to prospective students. Additionally, the role involves acting as a mentor to students, monitoring their progress, and modeling appropriate behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field; or Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience.
  • 1 year of experience working in the workforce development field, marketing, or placement related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the OA contractual goal is met during the appraisal period and ensures individual OA ratings are at or above 100% for the appraisal period.
  • Ensures that a corrective action plan is in place to meet any and all measures that are below 100%.
  • Attends and actively participates in OMS meeting and ensures 100% overall according to the monthly OAOMS report card and actively participate in the committees and provide support to center functions and activities.
  • Work closely with Center Staff on outreach activities and center functions such as the CWC and CRC.
  • Must access, verify and document applicant eligibility in strict accordance with PRH guidelines and ensure the support of all on center measure in regard to OMS and is fully supporting Center’s OBS capacity and student employee retention.
  • Adhere to the PRH requirements and maintain integrity in all their work to meet the standards of the ROCA, COCA and OIG.
  • Responsible to ensure that the S/E feel that they were provided with specific and accurate information regarding the center prior to arrival and act S/E mentor, ensuring that assigned S/E are making progress and receive necessary support to be successful in the program.
  • Models appropriate behaviors, mentors students and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
