About The Position

The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor plays a pivotal role in guiding prospective students and their families through the discernment process of choosing Bethel University. This role involves serving as a trusted guide, advocate, and connector from initial inquiry through enrollment and beyond. The counselor will help students understand Bethel’s academic offerings, its life-changing student experience, and its Christ-centered community. The position focuses on building genuine relationships with prospective students and their families, answering questions, offering encouragement, and demonstrating how Bethel can foster academic, spiritual, and personal growth. The counselor will manage a regional territory, communicate with students via multiple channels, and gain experience in recruitment, admissions decision-making, and student support. This is a purpose-driven role within a collaborative, mission-driven team that values learning, mentorship, and growth. Ability to work with students and families of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds assisting them with the admissions process.
Working knowledge of a CRM platform.
Ability to frequently travel locally, and regionally and nationally, as needed.
Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 15 lbs.
Bachelor's degree
No previous experience required

Responsibilities

Provide individualized one-to-one recruitment through relationship development and communication with students in regional territory.
Meet individually with students and families.
Follow up with students and families on their financial aid award letter.
Complete administrative work and documentation of ongoing status of prospective students.
Provide mass communication to prospective students within regional territory.
Read and evaluate applications for admission.
Travel within your assigned region to college fairs, schools, churches, and other events.
Build relationships with alumni, ministry leaders, education and guidance staff, and other community leaders for the purpose of building the Bethel brand within targeted communities.
Assist with retention and engagement of current students.
