The Admissions Counselor II position is a full-time, regular role within the Non-Campus Other department. The preferred candidate will reside in the Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga areas and operate from a home office. This role involves extensive interaction with high schools and prospective students, including participation in college fairs, advising students and families, and reviewing undergraduate applications. The position also requires active participation in outreach programs to broaden the student base interested in the University of Louisville, maintaining membership in relevant admissions organizations, and planning outreach initiatives for prospective students within the assigned region. Essential skills include strong interpersonal and written communication, presentation and public speaking abilities, basic technology proficiency, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities independently in a remote setting without direct supervision. Collaboration with alumni, affiliate organizations, academic units, and the development of new relationships with high school counselors and community college staff are critical. The role necessitates travel, including evening and weekend work, and periodic travel to the Belknap campus in Louisville for training, meetings, and yield events.
