Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is seeking an Admissions Counselor for Graduate Admissions. Requirements

Working knowledge of digital media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and persuade via digital, web, and social media.
Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating user satisfaction.
General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Working knowledge of principles and methods for describing and promoting programs and services to achieve desired outcomes.
General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Basic skills in persuading others to change their minds or behavior.
Basic skills in actively looking for ways to help people.
Basic skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, understanding points made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting.

Responsibilities

Develops prospects from current students, faculty, referral leads, conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, or special events.
Contacts prospective students to present information and/or explain available programs and services, communicating admission requirements, program offerings, curriculum, and basic financial aid information.
Determines students' educational needs and prepares proposals for services.
Handles and processes inquiries timely and accurately.
Provides assistance in completing application and enrollment documents.
Conducts outreach to applicants throughout their journey to enrollment and collaborates with staff for smooth transitions.
Performs a preliminary review of applicant files, including evaluation of transcripts, grades, curriculum, quality of schools, letters of recommendation, essays, extracurricular activities, and other pertinent information.
Transfers files to the designated admission committee or reviewer and updates the University student database.
Rejects applicants who do not meet minimum program requirements.
Schedules and participates in student interviews.
Provides guidance to faculty interview teams regarding the evaluation process and legal guidelines for compliance with non-discrimination regulations.
Prepares reports of activities and tracks prospects' and suspects' inquiries, applications, and student outcomes up to enrollment.
Manages yield strategies for prospects and applicants.
Collaborates with admissions colleagues, academic advisers, and financial aid officers for a smooth transition from inquiry to enrollment.
Develops and maintains a network of relationships (alumni, students, business community, government agencies, healthcare facilities, professional organizations, student groups, colleges, and universities) to increase enrollment.
Maintains knowledge of program and course requirements and sequencing, and establishes relationships with program faculty.
Makes presentations on programs and admissions to groups to attract new students.
Coordinates or participates in promotional activities, including conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, or special events.
Attends college and/or NSU events to promote programs and create awareness.
Serves in a public relations capacity at professional, civic, and business functions.
Identifies main client groups and audiences and determines the best communication and engagement strategies.
Researches, develops, and implements recruiting strategies for specific market segments.
Monitors industry statistics and follows trends in trade literature.
Measures and assesses customer satisfaction.
Forecasts and tracks marketing and enrollment trends, analyzing collected data.
Maintains student data integrity and confidentiality.
Serves on one or more committees as assigned.
Manages travel expenses timely and accurately.
Completes special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
