Holy Family University is a private institution in the Catholic tradition with campus locations in Philadelphia and Newtown PA. The University is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth founded in 1954. The main campus is nestled in the heart of a historic residential neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia that is vibrant and just minutes from the excitement of Center City. We are seeking an Admissions Counselor or Assistant Director (dependent upon experience), responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students to the institution. Duties include representing the university at various off-campus events, application/prospect management, meeting with students and families, and coordinating special recruitment programs and events. Employees must understand the mission of Catholic Higher education and be committed to the core values, mission, goals, and objectives of Holy Family University. Candidates should be open to working a flexible schedule that will include evening and weekend work during certain times of the year. A valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to travel via automobile for extensive local and regional travel is required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years of college admissions education experience preferred.
  • Other higher education-related experience will be considered.
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment in interacting with students, faculty, staff and internal/external stakeholders is required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications required.
  • Candidates should be open to working a flexible schedule that will include evening and weekend work during certain times of the year.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to travel via automobile is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with supervising student-workers or other employees is a plus.
  • CRM software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate the university's admissions process, programs and mission to prospective students.
  • Manage assigned travel territory and meet assigned enrollment goals.
  • Evaluate and manage all applicants assigned by territory/major.
  • Timely review and assessment for all applications assigned is required.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of recruitment events.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport and relationship with counselors and teachers in the assigned schools.
